I was recruited to play water polo at Brown University, where a typical day consisted of waking up at 5 AM for morning weights, followed by my afternoon course load, another water polo workout at night, and finishing my reading assignments waste deep in an ice bath so my body could recover for practice the next day. Somewhere in between all that, I stumbled into an acting class taught by Lowry Marshall, the acting teacher for Laura Linney and John Krasinski. I felt a bit in over my head, as my only previous acting experience was playing a “thorn bush” in my preschool play. Nonetheless, I decided to stick around, and it only took one class for me to get hooked.
I spent that summer as a theater apprentice for the Brown Trinity Repertory and ultimately graduated from Brown with a double major in theater arts and psychology. After graduation, I returned home to Pasadena, CA where I have continued to work on fine-tuning my craft.
In Los Angeles, I have studied with Laura Gardner at Howard Fine Acting Studio, Kristof Konrad at the Odyssey Theater, Killian McHugh at Killian’s Commercial Workshop, Alex D’Lerma at the Cinema Gym, and also graduated from UCB’s Improv Program where I was taught by Julie Brister, Josh Simpson, Anthony Gioe, and Billy Merritt.
While pursuing a career in acting is by far and away my number one priority, I still manage to find time for swimming, writing, snowboarding, LA Kings hockey, and of course for my secret nerdy love of board games.
